Measure Your Risk, Protect your Health
The “Measure Your Risk, Protect Your Health” event organized at GAU within the scope of 14 November World Diabetes Day is highly significant in raising early awareness and strengthening preventive health consciousness, particularly among young adults. This social responsibility project, which allows students to recognize their own health status through scientifically based risk assessments, directly aligns with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). At the same time, by supporting students in gaining hands-on field experience, the event reinforces the university’s sustainable education approach that contributes to public health.
SABDEK Student Congress
The presentation of two original oral papers in the field of physiotherapy by GAU Faculty of Health Sciences students at the SABDEK Health Sciences Student Congress is of great importance for the development of students’ scientific productivity, research culture, and academic communication skills. Such national academic platforms enable students to engage in interdisciplinary interaction and strengthen their professional competencies at an early stage, while directly aligning with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure). GAU’s student-centered research and scientific participation vision makes a significant contribution to the training of qualified human resources in the health sector.
Health Law and Legal Responsibilities for Physiotherapists Event
The event titled “Health Law and Legal Responsibilities for Physiotherapists” is of great importance in raising legal awareness among future health professionals and increasing their understanding of patient rights and professional responsibilities in clinical practice. Organized with the contributions of the Girne American University Law Club, the event is directly related to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). Such interdisciplinary initiatives strengthen students’ ethical, legal, and professional competencies and contribute to the dissemination of safe and sustainable healthcare practices.

Current Topics In Psychology Seminar
A productive seminar titled “Current Topics in Psychology” was organized by the GAU Psychology Club on the occasion of 10 May Psychologists’ Day, with the participation of Specialist Psychologist Sevilsu Taneri and Clinical Psychologist Tansu Tarhan. The event played a significant role in raising students’ awareness of contemporary approaches in mental health and enhancing their professional perspectives, while directly aligning with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). By bringing together academia and field experts, the seminar contributed meaningfully to students’ professional development.
Civil Aviation Day Event
The participation of the GAU Aviation Club in the 7 December International Civil Aviation Day event organized by the GAU School of Aviation is of great importance in enabling students to evaluate current developments, safety culture, and technological innovations in the aviation sector from an academic perspective. The sectoral practices and interdisciplinary interactions addressed during the conference strengthened students’ professional awareness and sense of responsibility. This event directly aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Such activities, conducted in line with GAU’s practice- and industry-oriented education approach, contribute to the development of well-equipped, conscious, and motivated individuals in the field of aviation.

The first event of the year organized by the GAU Pharmacy Club, titled “Practical Training Workshop: Injection Techniques and First Aid Fundamentals,” is of great importance in enhancing students’ practical professional skills and increasing awareness of patient safety. The workshop supports pharmacy students in gaining competence in basic clinical applications and directly aligns with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). The workshop titled “From Nature to the Laboratory: Lemon Extract and Lemon Cologne Workshop,” organized by the GAU Pharmacy Club, was successfully completed as an important educational activity that enabled students to practically experience the extraction of plant-based raw materials and basic pharmaceutical formulation processes. The workshop supported the conscious use of natural products and the development of laboratory skills, while directly aligning with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).

Plant Path: Discovery and Healing in Nature
The “Plant Path: Discovery and Healing in Nature” event organized by the GAU Faculty of Pharmacy provided an important experience in nature-based learning and environmental awareness by enabling students to recognize medicinal and aromatic plants in their natural habitats. As a field-based activity, it supported students in reinforcing their theoretical knowledge through on-site observations and directly aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land). Such applied activities strengthen GAU’s sustainable and experiential education approach.
