GAU Faculty of Political Science Visited the TRNC Presidency

GAU Faculty of Political Science Visited the TRNC Presidency
Girne American University (GAU) Faculty of Political Sciences, together with the GAU Cyprus Research Center and the GAU International Relations Club, conducted an academic visit to the Presidency of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on April 2, 2026. During the visit, which was attended by faculty members and students, a meeting was held with Presidency officials.
As part of the meeting, TRNC Presidential Undersecretary Mehmet Dana delivered a briefing to the participants on the geopolitical position of Northern Cyprus. The briefing addressed the TRNC’s place within the regional and international system, its strategic importance, and the current dynamics it faces.
The meeting also covered recent political developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Cyprus issue. Mr. Mehmet Dana responded to questions raised by the faculty students on the topic.
Faculty members of the GAU Faculty of Political Sciences and officials of the GAU Cyprus Research Center emphasized the importance of such visits in reinforcing students’ theoretical knowledge with real-world developments, and expressed their appreciation to the TRNC Presidency for their kind hospitality.
