GAU Honey Forest Introduced in Turkey

Honey Forest Project by Girne American University which was initiated in Karpaz has been greeted with interest in Turkey.

Turkey General Directorate of Forestry  ,Non-wood Product and Services Department Forestry and Beekeeping titled workshop started.

 

The first day of the workshop held in Bolu, Head of Non-Wood Products and Services İsa Sertkaya  has held a meeting about  "Forest and Beekeeping".

 

After the meeting, presentation of GAU Honey Forest Project was held.

After the presentation about honeydew honey source and other insect species by Ankara University lecturer Prof. Dr Selma Ülgentürk, GATA Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tanyüksel held an apitherapy presented.

 

After presentation by Assist. Prof. Meral Kekeçoğlu about bee safari in the world and Turkey  from DAGEM, Cyprus beekeeping, bee safari, apitherapy, bee breeds, Cyprus flora, reforestation and GAU Karpaz forest honey project was working on.

 

GAU KARPAZ LIFE CAMPUS INTRODUCED

 

Girne American University Karpas Honey Forest Project Coordinator Mehmet Osmanlılar, Turkey General Directorate of Forestry, Department of Non-Wood Products and Services, participated in the workshop "Forest and Beekeeping". Girne American University provide detailed information about Karpas Campus Life and forest honey. Referred to importance of the steps have been carried out in behalf of the Cyprus and Cypriots by Girne American University.

 

Osmanlılar emphasized that meeting with Chairman of non-wood products Beekeeping and Pine Honey Research Center officers, Honey Forest Projects, not just a project oriented also attach importance to environment, examined the surrounding the types of plants and trees which received and archived. Also Osmanlılar stated that studies about removal of the quarry and pond studies began with the vision of The Chancellor of the Board of Administrators and Founding Rector Serhat Akpınar . Osmanlılar mentioned about the importance of the project for Cyprus and Cypriots especially with the Karpaz Campus Life will be beneficial to Girne American University students and chasing the developments in Cyprus with all the people.
