Who is Bruno Gröning?

In 1949, the name Bruno Gröning suddenly became the most sensational part of the news, society, media, radio and films. After a short while he was called “the miracle doctor” and with spreading events it became the topic for months in the new republic.

A movie was created; a scientific research committee was called to the task and the official authorities took action at the highest level in this event of Bruno Gröning. The North Rhine Westphalia Social Minister started an investigation against Bruno Groening on the grounds that it was against the law of natural treatments. In response, the Bavarian Prime Minister, explained that Gröning, as such an "outstanding personality" could not be prevented by the laws. The Bavarian Ministry of Internal Affairs, described the things that he had done as "a voluntary act of love".

The Bruno Gröning event was discussed between all commoners in conflicting ideas and in a very ardent way. The cycles of this event spread all over rapidly.  Clergymen, doctors, press workers, jurists, politicians and psychologists: Everyone spoke about Bruno Gröning. His healing miracles had been a great saviour gift for the other quackery, though the healings that had taken place have been documented with medical checks.

Bruno Gröning was born in 1906 in Danzig.  After the war, he emigrated to West Germany involuntarily.  He was an ordinary worker. He dealt with lots of different occupations. He did Carpentry, factory and port labour, telegraph delivery and regular electrical work. He is currently the focus of attention of all the people.  His healing miracle news was spreading all over the world. From all the countries’ patients, help letters, and offerings were coming. Tens of thousands seeking aid, were visiting the place where he was effective.  A revolution was consisted in medicine.

However, there were also opposing forces.  Influential and the mentioned doctors, church workers, jurists and former employees. They took action against Bruno Gröning to prevent his effective work.  This was followed by healing prohibitions and litigations were opened against him.  The efforts made to put his studies in order didn’t pay off.  On one side there was a major rebellion of the society, on the other side there were incapable people and the ones accompanying him.  When Bruno Gröning died in Paris in January 1959, the case against him was still at full tilt.  Litigations stopped and a final decision was never given in any way.
