As a part of InfoMigrants Project an international workshop titled Assessing the Cultural Value of InfoMigrants is organized by Association for Development, Migration and Social Policies (DEMIS) in cooperation with Girne American University (GAU), Dokuz Eylul University Entrepreneurship, Management and Economy Research Centre (DEGIEM) and Open University (OU) on 28th August 2017 at Dokuz Eylul Continuing Education Centre (DESEM).

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sibel Safi Head of  GAU`s English Faculty of Law summarized the legal situation in Turkey regarding the migration, international protection, role of the UNHCR, the readmission agreement signed with the EU and issues raised on Turkey as a safe country. 

Dr. Sadık Akyar (GAU  Faculty of Political Sciences)  analysed the border security and changes at the Turkey-Syria border and presented the international humanitarian operations in Afghanistan as a model for Syria refugee crisis.
