Panel on Women as Human Beings

Panel “Women as Human Beings” has been organized by the Faculty of Humanities, Girne American University for Women’s Day on March 8, 2012.

The panel, which will be held held on March 8, 2012 at Millenium Conress Hall at 14:00 hours will be open to the public and broadcasted live on GAU TV.

The welcoming speech by Prof. Dr. Nesrin Kale, the dean of Faculty of Humanities will be followed by the presentations: Selda Icer, the president of Social Risks Prevention Society, Asst. Prof. Dr. Nur Yeliz Gülcan “Women in the Turkish Society in History, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mira R. Gökdoğan “I both love and beat Women”, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Tutku Akter “Women in the Media”.

An exhibition will be opened after the poetry recital by Karen Janet McKınney and Ayşe Sat for Women’s Day on March 8, 2012.
“The aim is to create an awareness about gender discrimination and violation of women rights”

At the interview, Prof. Dr. Nesrin Kale, the dean of Faculty of Humanities said “we have been organizing this panel every year and aiming to create an awareness about gender discrimination and violation of women rights both in our society and in the world”.
