The year 12 students of the American College have graduated with a magnificent graduation ceremony
The Graduation Ceremony of the Year 12 Students, which took place in GAU International Congress Centre Spectrum Hall, was attended by the GAU Vice Chancellor of the Board and GAU Group of Schools President - Cemile Esenyel, GAU Vice Chancellor of the Board - Olgun Üstün, GAU Health, Culture and Sports Department President - Türkay Akpınar, School Principals, teachers and parents.

Principal of American College - Aysu Balkanlar who wished success in college life in her speech, stated that "I fondly remember my school life. My experiences were a pioneer in shaping my life, my success. I hope we did the same for you, and you will remember in the same way I fondly remember my own school. This is a new beginning for you. You will be the individuals thrown into life. I hope your way, your mind and fortune will always be open. Feel the pride of being a graduate from the American College."
The American College, which is to the only member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS) for the 2013/2014 Academic Year in Northern Cyprus, presented the ECIS award to Mariya Goltseva, who became entitled to receive the award which was presented by GAU Vice Chancellor of the Board and GAU Group of Schools Director Cemile Esenyel. The award is given by the Council every year to a student chosen by the teachers as a result of the efforts and success shown during the education year,
The Salih Sonel Special Award, which is given to a student every year in the memory of the late American College Principal - Salih Sonel who passed away suddenly in the past years, was given to İsmet Vurur by Yeşim Sonel. GAU Group of Schools, PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) President Cetin Selkan gave the Citizenship Award to Savcı Genç Osman due to representing his school in many fields and setting a good example for other students. After the slide presentation of works in IGCSE, AS and A Level art lessons, Art Special Awards was given to successful students Savcı Genç Osman, Oğulcan Vuruşan, Şenay İmamoğlu by the Art Teacher, Gülten Can. Painting and Sculpture Teacher Şenol Özdevrim presented Mariya Goltseva, Gülsen Ali with Art Achievement Award. Sport Special Award was given to Emre Çetinaslan by GAU Health, Culture and Sports Department President Türkay Akpınar. Awards of successful students, who represented the American College in various sports, were given by Vice Principle Koray Emirhoca. In Basketball; Ahmet Çağer, İrem Nur Bay, Mehmet Salih Esenboğa, Mertcan Esenboğa, Tarik Çelikbağ, Tolunay Bıçakcı, Utku Öcal; In Football; Ahmet Sağlam, Mustafa Erbildim, Süleyman Mullahasan, Caner İsmail, Berke Sakizci In Fencing; Mert Hassan, Savcı Genç Osman, Serhan Aydınel received their awards.

GAU Dance Academy Students wowed the audience with their dance performances

After the award ceremony, there were GAU Dance Academy performances which wowed the audience. The "Taboo" which is a music group formed by the American college students under the leadership of their music teacher İbrahim Özbaskın, spiced the night with their music performance along with Türkan Kürşad who accompanied the group and they received a standing ovation with their live performances.

GAU Special Honour Rings, which are given to the teachers who have completed six years within GAU Group of Schools, were given to Caner Ay, Celal Sakka, Fatoş Mertekçi, Hacer İren, Rana Çetin, Şaziye Şahinalp, Şehnaz Nadiri by GAU Vice Chancellor of the Board - Olgun Üstün. Principal of the American College - Aysu Balkanlar presented the ''Principal Award'' to Utku Öcal who showed high commitment to his school, showed the best effort to achieve the best and set a good example to other students. Student Captain Utku Öcal who thanked his friends and teachers who had chosen him as Captain, stated that “We are graduating but our hearts will always be with the American College. I wish success to all my friends and send tons of love to our management, teachers, friends and families who supported us.

According to the graduation average obtained at the end of four years, first place Maria Goltseva, second place İsmet Vurur and third place Harry Jake Wadsworth were presented with a plaque of success by the Vice Chancellor of the GAU Board and Group of Schools - President Cemile Esenyel and the Principal of American College - Aysu Balkanlar.
