A cooperation protocol was signed between AS TV Media Group and the Girne American University (GAU) for joint projects and productions as well as to develop and strengthen relations.
The protocol signing ceremony held at the AS TV Media Centre was attended by Chairman of the AS TV Media Group - Metin Shadi, and GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of the Board - Assist. Prof. Dr. Asim Vehbi.

GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of the Board - Assist. Prof. Dr. Asim Vehbi, who made a speech at the ceremony, stated that GAU and AS TV Media Group are required to cooperate in any area as two local organizations. Also Vehbi emphasized that both sector and cross-sector co-operation within industries is very important and stressed that this truly needs to be done in the TRNC but GAU successfully performs it with TRNC media organizations. Vehbi who emphasized that the purpose of collaboration is to use the resources in the most efficient way, stated that the agreements should be signed between the institutions and organizations that are in competition within an industry because they are in a small economy and a small island country and emphasized that creating synergies, by combining resources and power, will create productive work and success. Vehbi, who wished the protocol agreement to be beneficial for both institutions, thanked the Chairman of the AS TV Media Group - Metin Shadi on the behalf of GAU Family.

Chairman of the AS TV Media Group - Metin Shadi commented that they are happy with the protocol which was signed with the Girne American University and stated that he believed they will collaborate successful projects in the future with Cyprus's first university.

After their speeches, the Chairman of the AS TV Media Group - Metin Shadi, together with GAU CEO and Vice- Chancellor of the Board - Assist. Prof. Dr. Asim Vehbi, signed the cooperation protocol.

The protocol which covers a 5-year period includes; ensuring mutual internships and research opportunities to GAU students, arranging in-service courses for the publications and technical staff, producing joint broadcasts between the two organizations and creating a joint production committee for this purpose, co-operating the technical equipment and written-audio-visual material that can be utilized for research and education, organization of social or scientific meetings, contributing as opinion leaders of the GAU global Science family to AS TV programs with their opinions and scientific studies as well as developing social relations at AS TV Media Group.
