A symposium about "Poetry and Music" and "Composition of Music in TRNC" will be held by the Art of Poetry Platform and hosted by the Girne American University Faculty of Education as part of the "1st Poetry and Music Days of Kyrenia."

The Symposium which will take place at the GAU Millennium Senate Congress Centre starts tomorrow (Thursday May 8th 2014) at 10:00am.

At the first session of the Symposium will be chaired by Dr. Ayhan Yellow, Ali Şenozan, Cansin Erol, Cemal Safi, Engin Cir, Dr. Halil Altınköprü, TurhanTasan, Vedat Cetinkaya and Yahya Akengin who will give speeches about 'Poetry and Music'.

The second session, chaired by Dr. Ayhan Yellow will start again after lunch. Aytaç Çağın, Cem Kafkas, Harid Fedai, Mustafa Gökçeoğlu, Nazim Beratli, Özkan Pastırmacıoğlu and Ulus Yesilada will give speeches at the second session entitled "Composition Music in the TRNC”.
At the closing session of the Symposium, which will take place at the Millennium Senate Congress Centre; Arif Albayrak, Ayhan Sari, Şentaç Ari and Sumer Aygin will give a speech. The closing declaration of the Symposium will be made by the chairman of the organizing committee - Aysegul Dinçbaş.

After the closing session of the Symposium, a Gala Concert will be held at the Dome Hotel in Kyrenia at 20:30. On the Tambour - Culture and Tourism Ministry Artist - Reyhan İllez, on the Zither - Ege University State Turkish Music Conservatory artist - Dr.Halil Altınköprü, and on the Lute - Culture and Tourism Ministry Istanbul State Classical Turkish Music Artist – Engin Cir, the orchestra with BRT Institute of Music Advisor and Conductor Cem Kafkas Composer, poet and sound artist - Ulus Yeşilada, Culture and Tourism Ministry Artist - Metin Akyol, Composer, Conductor and TRT E. artist - Vedat Cetinkaya and composer, poet and TRT E. State Artist - Zekai Tunca will give solo performances at the concert.
