Future Pilots to be trained at GAU

• GAU, which has been approved for 5 new departments by YÖDAK, begins student admissions in September 2014 for the new departments

• A first time world standard formation in TRNC for GAU Pilotage Department

GAU, on the eve of its 30th academic year celebrations, have 4 new departments accredited by YÖDAK (Planning, Auditing, Accreditation and Coordination Council) and will commence student admissions in September 2014, following the new step forward with regard to a global dimension in Pilotage training.

The GAU Rectorate announced the new departments, that are also accredited by YÖDAK, are Pilotage Under-graduate Program, Social Media Expertise Turkish Associate Degree Program, Digital Marketing and Social Media Management Turkish Under-graduate Program, Architecture Under-graduate and Music Teaching Turkish Under-graduate Program.

According to the announcement made by the Rectorate, the new academic year will be enhanced and developed in student numbers as students will prefer North Cyprus due to the fact that the student admission for the new departments will commence in the new academic year.

The statement further elaborated that the globalized world has triggered the development of the sector and increased the demand for pilots and thus the TRNC based university is initially stepping forward to commence a world standard formation in this sector.

GAU to train pilots from September 2014 onwards

In the relevant statement from GAU it is expressed that, in a globalized world, the interest in aviation has increased with the development of the aviation industry and the increased need for pilots. It is expressed that they aim to train future pilots with 4 new generation single engine cockpit aircraft, 1 new generation double engine glass cockpit aircraft and 2 single and multi-engine advanced FNPT aircraft. The theoretical studies will be conducted in GAU Girne campus and practical training will be held in Istanbul.

It is stated that with the approval of YÖDAK, admissions for students will commence in September 2014 and the education will be given in both campuses with the latest technology products and simulators in both places.
