Cooperation Protocol between GAU and Van Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VanTSO)

A Cooperation Protocol has been signed to improve and strengthen the relations between the Van Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Van TSO) and GAU.

The protocol signing ceremony, which was held at the Van TSO building, was attended by Van TSO President of the Board of Administrators - Necdet Takva, Vice President - Yavuz Karaman, Members of the Board of Administrators - Metin Abi, Faruk Biner and GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of the Board of Administrators – Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi and GAU General Secretary – Assist. Prof. Dr. Sualp Davut.

It was stated that the members of Van TSO will get a discount and opportunity to utilize the facilities of the GAU campuses, while Van TSO will provide support to the educational activities of GAU in Van.

President Necdet Takva, who gave a speech at the ceremony, conveyed his best wishes to the protocol which was signed and stated that the protocol will be beneficial to both GAU and Van TSO. Takva stated “The recovery process took a little longer in our Province which has survived 2 major earthquakes. Van, with a population of 1 million 70 thousand, ranks in a significant place when measured in terms of geography and area. We need to benefit from Van, the city of civilizations.”

President Takva who referred to the importance which was given to education, stated “We announce the importance we give to education at every chance as the managers of Van TSO. An educated community brings success in line. We are ready to provide any kind of support that will improve education.”

GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of the Board of Administrators – Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi stated that the relations between GAU and Van TSO will improve and strengthen with the cooperation protocol which was signed. Vehbi, stated that GAU – with 11,500 students from 85 different countries and lecturers that give education from 25 different countries - is a university that graduates its students with valid diplomas all over the world, and has equivalence by many world-wide-known accreditiion agencies. Vehbi who stressed that the student demand is increasing from Turkey every day, has stated that GAU also has campuses in Turkey, UK, USA, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Vehbi conveyed his best wishes for the protocol which was signed with Van TSO, and invited Van TSO to visit GAU and the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce.

Following the speeches the protocol signing ceremony took place.
