GAU Tennis Team are the champion in the Turkey Inter Universities Tennis Championship.

Girne American University (GAU) Men’s Tennis Team became undefeated champion in the Turkey Inter Universities Tennis Championship.

The tournament was held in Antalya Kaya Belek Hotel between Saturday 27 March and Sunday 3 April. GAU Men’s Tennis team defeated Ankara University and ODTU 2-1 and defeated İstanbul University, Kadir Has University and İstanbul Kultur University 3-0. GAU have earned the right to join the Super League after their tremendous win.
No coincidence

A statement by GAU said the men’s and women’s tennis team are also champions of the North Cyprus Inter Universities Tennis Tournament and GAU’s successes are no coincidence. Coach of the GAU Tennis Tournament, Yiğit Tan, underlined that both teams have a very busy schedule and try their hardest to obtain the best results. He also said that GAU’s sport facilities provide the best opportunities to the country’s athletes.

The statement also said that over the past 25 years, Girne American University has been attending national and international tournaments in 29 different sports, which is great for North Cyprus.
