GAU MEDITERRANEAN UNDERWATER RESEARCH CENTER STUDIES CONTINUE ON HOME WATERS AND COASTAL WATER QUALITY IN REGARDS TO CONVENIENCE TO NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS

Mediterranean Underwater Research Center which was established under GAU Girne Campus Chancellor’s Office, continues its studies in TRNC North Coast’s Surface Water Quality.

GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar, Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Olgun Üstün and authorities of Mediterranean Underwater Research Center have attended the briefing held in GAU Social Facilities and Tourism Hotel Management Application Center Camelot Beach.

 “Research continues on TRNC Swimming Water Quality and International Standard Convenience”

As GAU reported the centerwill undertake researches for seabed and home range in Mediterranean and local costs and also for the Mediterranean underwater biological varietieswhile GAU Mediterranean Underwater Research Center has established a vision of “Let Us Save Our Seas and Future”. Also it has been underlined that GAU Cyprus-Girne campus situates the research office  and laboratories of the center while the implementation center is situated in GAU Social Facilities and Tourism and Hotel Implementation Center Camelot Beach Club.

GAU Mediterranean Underwater Research Center has accelerated studies following the great environmental pollution of AKSA thus eventually reporting the swimming water quality of TRNC in means of national and international standards in accord to TRNC North Shores Surface Water Quality study  and field study sample analysis.

GAU Mediterranean Underwater Research Center conducting the initial studies on aforesaid problem, considering Cyprus as a center of sea tourism, the international standard clarification will contribute for the promotion of the country and the tourism as well; as been stated.

The center which will undertake researches for seabed and home range in Mediterranean and local costs and also for the Mediterranean underwater biological varieties, sea pollution, underwater archeology and sunken rocks, Monachus Monachus (Mediterranean seals) and Caretta Caretta’s and green turtles’ and been added that researches for seabed and home range in Mediterranean will initiate in Girne while other branch of the center will be under GAU Karpaz Life Campus and the aim will be to allow Karpaz to be the center of attention for Underwater Researches.

GAU Mediterranean Underwater Research Centerstudies progress corporately with non-governmental organizations and relevant official organizations, local and international universities, international non-governmental organizations and environmental organizations under the vision of “Let Us Save Our Seas And Future” pulling attention to nature oriented, environmental and sea pollutions and reinforcing social awareness through various social responsibility projects, conferences, seminars, workshops and trainings.
