The Minister of Economy and Energy Sunat Atun, has accepted the board of GAU Science and Rectors which consists of the rectors from the overseas campuses England, Singapore and USA  of Girne American University situated in TRNC for the annual campus rectors meeting.



Minister Atun have made important explanations during the acceptance of the board of GAU Science and Rectors which consists of Rector of England Canterbury Campus Dr. Ron French, Rector of USA Washington Campus Fay Avery and Rector of Singapore Asia Pacific Campus Dr. John Pang under the presidency of the Vice Chancellor of GAU Administrative Board Olgun Üstün together with CEO and Vice Chancellor of GAU Administrative Board Dr. Asım Vehbi.



Minister Atun, have expressed his appreciation for hosting the GAU overseas campus rectors in his speech of acceptance. Further speaking Atun said “As I look at our guests I see that you have already dominated half of the world” and adding on that he tailgates the works of GAU and monitors that it’s improving in great respect for the recent years. Atun also stated that this development is appreciating everybody and added that “Turkish Cypriot community is also receiving positive impressions due to the positive improvements of the universities”.



In his speech, CEO and Vice Chancellor of GAU Administrative Board Dr. Asım Vehbi have presented the campus chancellors one by one and informed about the overseas campuses to Minister Atun.



Vehbi emphasizing that Girne American University’s (GAU) overseas campuses are important elements for the development of the international identity, have added that strategies for the future education are been developed while important decisions are made for the North Cyprus  higher -education system global higher-education during the annual meetings held by the international overseas campus rectors.



During his speech the Vice Chancellor of GAU Administrative Board Olgun Üstün have also pulled attention on that the campuses of England, Singapore and USA together with GAU students are both continuing on their international higher-education and also emphasized that overseas GAU campuses are been instrumentals for the lifting of the embargoes and support the universal power of the science beside the student development. Üstun also stated that, the rectors of the GAU overseas campuses are delegates of honorary science and culture of TRNC, and emphasized that the overseas campuses are positively contributing to the advertisement of the country.
