The Girne American University is establishing the TRNC’s first Astronomy and Space Sciences Centre in its Cyprus Kyrenia Campus.

As a result of the negotiations between the Girne American University and the Enterpreneurship Development Fund of Kazakhstan, which is one of the leading countries in Space Sciences and Astronomy education, an astronomy and space sciences centre project is being developed.

At the end of the project development process conducted by the Girne American University Founding Rector and Board Chairman Serhat Akpınar and DAMU Chairman Saken Seyfullin, the first astronomy and space sciences centre will be established by GAU.

The Founding Rector of The Girne American University Serhat Akpınar has paid official visits to Kazakhstan and obtained information by visiting the astronomy and space centre of Kazakhstan.

GAU Head Office has announced that they are proud to break new grounds in TRNC and that the astronomy and space sciences centre of GAU Kyrenia campus will be the first in TRNC. It was emphasized that the centre will put its signature under substantial studies in Space Sciences with its scientific research and observations of the outside world and galaxies, and become an important education centre.

It was stated that the GAU Centre of Astronomy and Space Sciences will enable especially the students of GAU group of Schools and all the students in the country to observe the space, outer world, astrology, galaxies and the stellar system. The centre will also contribute to the foundation of Astronomy departments.
