Girne American University (GAU) and Cetinkaya Sports Club made a signing ceremony for the ten-year agreement which was come to terms.

Founding Rector of GAU and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar, President of Cyprus Turkish Football Association (CTFA) Hasan Sertoglu, President of Council Bülent Dizdarlı, one of the first members of Cetinkaya Turkish Sports Club, Oner Canbaz, GAU CEO and Vice Chancellor of Board of Administrators Assist. Prof. Dr. Asim Vehbi, Vice Chancellor of the Board Olgun Ustun, Health Culture and Sports Department Head Turkay Akpınar, GAU Rector Prof. Dr. Sadık Ulker, Member of Board and Legal Adviser Aral Dogu and former president and directors of Cetinkaya Turkish Sports Club attended to the signing ceremony which was held in Cetinkaya Sports Club.

President of Council Bulent Dizdarlı, who made a statement in behalf of Cetinkaya Sports Club after the signing ceremony, referred that it is an important day for Cetinkaya Sports Club, sponsorships which have been tried to be made until today were unsuccessful, with GAU, they signed a successful agreement as a result of long-termed and regardful works, Cetinkaya is the pride and honor and GAU is the shining star of Turkish Cypriots.

In his statement, GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar recorded that today, GAU, which has over 30-year past, and, Cetinkaya Sports Club, which has nearly 100-year past, were united and both will do their parts ideally, with this step, they will be an example for other institutions and organizations and he takes pride in all the success of Cetinkaya Sports Club.

In the speech of CTFA President Hasan Sertoglu, it was stated that Sertoglu got excited when he first heard about the project, this agreement is an important step for Cyprus Turkish Football. Sertoglu also referred that this union will set an example for other institutions and organizations and it has great importance in Cyprus Turkish Football and TRNC.

One of the first members of Cetinkaya Sports Club, Oner Canbaz, specified that GAU gave great support to Cetinkaya with this agreement and thanked GAU for its supports.

GAU-CETINKAYA FOR TEN YEARS:

With ten-year protocol between Girne American University and Cetinkaya Sports Club being accepted in general assembly by a majority vote and with the official protocol; new name of Cetinkaya Sports Club will be GAU-Cetinkaya for ten years. By Protocol, GAU will contribute to the budget of Cetinkaya in the way that it will not be less than 130 thousand Euros on a yearly basis, before every season, it will be divided as an installment for months and will be delivered to the management. In the beginning of each season, payments will be designated and repeated by the same procedure conditions.
