Ankara State Opera and Ballet, which is under Turkey`s Culture and Tourism Ministry, held a press conference before their show named "Arda Boyları ve Akdeniz Esintisi”, which will be held in Girne American University Congress Centre Spectrum Hall.

Expressing that they were very happy for hosting the Ankara State Opera and Ballet, who came to Cyprus for the first time after 20 years, Girne American University Rector Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker, stated that "We attach great importance to art."

Stating that "Today, we are holding a very happy press conference with you. We will bring the Ankara State Opera and Ballet together with our people in Girne. We also have a very nice event which will take place on June 26, in Famagusta." Ülker, then expressed the followings:

“As Girne American University, we attach great importance to theater, ballet, in short; to fine arts. We also see that our people are hungry on this subject.  I also thank to our team, who will live this art event up to our people.”

The speech of the ADOB Director Yener Turan

Ankara State Opera and Ballet`s Modern Dance Group Director Yener Turan stated the followings in his speech:

“It’s been a very long time; we really missed Cyprus very much. GAU`s perspective is really important for us. We were yearning for it. We needed to make an introduction. We are really very happy to be here. We normally attend as two separate units to tours:  modern dance group and classical ballet group. It`s very important for us that the two units are here at the same time. The people of Cyprus are very fond of art and interested in art. Making an announcement here once is enough for the audience. I see this festival as a beginning and after this, I hope that we come and meet more often.”
