GAU Training Plane DA42 Introduced to the Media at Ercan Airport

Before the parade which was performed in the 41st anniversary of 20th July Peace and Freedom Day, training planes of Girne American University (GAU) Aviation School were introduced to the media in Ercan Airport.

 

 

GAU Chair of Board of Trustees Memduh Erdal, Health Culture and Sports Department Head Turkay Akpinar, Chief Pilot Ahmet Akpinar, Member of Board Aral Dogu, CEO and Vice Chancellor of Board of Administrators Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, Vice Chancellors of the Board Olgun Ustun and Cemile Esenyel, Rector Prof. Dr. Sadık Ulker, Pilots Sezai Demirseren and Kenan Karaman and GAU Aviation School academicians attended to the welcoming ceremony which was held in the apron of Ercan Airport.

 

 

After the flower presentation of GAU Chair of Board of Trustees Memduh Erdal, Demirseren referred that “DA42 training plane is one of the most preferred plane in aviation training. As GAU, we will use these planes in our education. DA42 is commonly used in Turkey and many countries of the world”

 

In his statement, GAU Vice Chancellor of Board of Administrators Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi stated the followings;

 

 

“As global science family, GAU is a great pride for us, it has always been an university of firsts and today, we are experiencing this again. GAU Pilotage Department started to admit students last year. For their pilotage educations, our students need to make flights by their undergraduate programs; this year they will have the opportunity to get their practical educations with our own planes. Pilotage department is one of the most important and needed profession of our age and after four-year undergraduate education students can have a profession without waiting”

 

 

GAU Rector Prof. Dr. Sadık Ulker recorded that “As GAU family, we break grounds. We started our pilotage education last year and this year, we bought our first plane for the practical educations. I am very proud for this reason. As there are great needs for pilots, youths show big interest to this department. As GAU Family, we are leading the way again. Tomorrow, GAU planes will be in their positions in the parade.”

 

 

In the 41st Peace and Freedom Day ceremony which will be held on Monday 20 July 2015, GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar will be in the DA42 plane of GAU Pilotage Department and GAU light training planes will also take part in the ceremony.
