2011 AMFORTH World Tourism Forum in Kyrenia

AMFORTH officials announced: The strength of the tourism industry and education in North Cyprus is admirable. AMFORTH World Tourism Forum helped to establish a cultural link between the world and North Cyprus.

GAU's International Tourism Education Board (GAU-INTEB) and AMFORTH, a leading institution in the world tourism which was established in Paris since 1969, jointly organised the 2011 World Tourism Forum which was held in North Cyprus. AMFORTH's President Phillippe Francois and General Secretary Martine Fery announced that the strength of the tourism industry and education in North Cyprus are admirable.

The 2011 World Tourism Forum took place from the 11-13 November 2011 at Girne American University's Kyrenia Campus and ended with a workshop named 'Responsibility towards the future and Sharing Projects'. President Francois announced the Forum was very successful and it will take AMFORTH to further success. Francois also pointed out that the Forum established an important cultural link between the world and North Cyprus. Francois expressed his gratitude to have the chance to learn about North Cyprus, a tourism island, and the universities of North Cyprus offering tourism education.

AMFORTH officials were impressed with the tourism industry of the island and the tourism education offered at the universities of North Cyprus. General Secretary Fery expressed that GAU tourism students had made the right choice in where to study, and further to that he said the tourism education at GAU is of world standards.
