GAU signs another International protocol

Girne American University, on the eve of its 30th year in Higher Education, initiated another academic protocol with the leading Dubai university - Dubai Canada University under the vision of internationalization.

GAU has reached over 150 academic protocols and common scientific studies and has co-operated with universities, other than the GAU international overseas campuses and educational centres in England, Singapore, USA and Turkey, following the academic protocol signed between GAU and Dubai Canada University.

The signing ceremony of the academic protocol, which was held in GAU Cyprus Campus-Girne Rectorate Building Meeting Hall, was attended by the CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators - Asst. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi and Dr. John Newark on behalf of Dubai Canada University.

CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators - Asst. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi wished the very best to both the GAU family and the people of the TRNC during the signing of the protocol with Dubai Canada University. Vehbi described the protocols as the doors opening to the world and emphasized that they, as GAU, are proud to have an internationalization vision and to be the university with most external relations. Vehbi also underlined that GAU has campuses in England, USA, Singapore, Hong Kong and Istanbul and all these overseas campuses have more than 150 academic protocols signed with other universities. Vehbi stated that within the framework of the protocol which has been signed with the Canada University located in Dubai will not be only limited with few numbers of students but it will benefit a maximum number of students and the student exchange will be available amongst Cyprus- Dubai and Dubai-Cyprus. Furthermore Vehbi claimed that students of GAU, no matter from which department, will have the opportunity to study in Dubai for a duration of a minimum of a semester or a maximum of a year.

The authority of Dubai Canada University - Dr. John Newark stressed that he loved Cyprus and especially the Girne area and that he is envious of the internationalization vision of GAU. Newark has underlined that likewise the students of Dubai will also have the chance to study abroad in GAU thus allowing significant benefit for the students. The signed protocol will enable GAU and Dubai Canada University to share scientific studies and undertake student and scientist exchange programs providing an opportunity for taking education in both universities periodically.
