The Future American College in Lefkoşa, which provides education under GAU Group of Schools, has celebrated a week of Tree and Forest with numerous events.

The events held by the Future American College consisted of poem concerts and plays performed by the students for their families. The school's chorus sang about the forest while 4 year old kindergarten students of the Future American College presented fruits and the pre-school students made the "fruit trees talk". The families strongly applauded their children when they have also learned as they have been entertained.

The message of “trees are the lungs of the world” was emphasized as the second planting event was held by the Future American College following the announcement of the 2013/2014 Academic Year as the “Year of Environment and Nature” under the decision by the GAU Senate according to the mobilization decision given by the GAU Board of Administrators on the Yeşilırmak disaster.

The week under the slogan - “Where there is forest there is oxygen and where there is oxygen there is life” has further expressed to the students the significance of the forest and protection of living beings in the forest. The students were also informed on the fire emergency procedures and the specific methods of planting and growing the trees.

The tree planting event which took place in the garden of the Future American College included a plant for each student and teacher. Students planted their own trees with their families in the places previously determined and the teachers also planted trees.
