A Model Investment to Domestic Tourism and Economy by GAU

THE RE-OPENING OF CHATEAU LAMBOUSA BY THE VISION OF GAU CHANCELLOR’S OFFICE WILL PROVIDE 250 BED AND ABOUT 200 RECRUITMENT VACANCIES FOR THE TOURISM SECTOR.

Chateau Lambousa- an important building block of domestic tourism with the cooperation of GAU and Celebrity Group of Hotels- will serve tourism sector.

Chateau Lambousa- a 5 star hotel under Celebrity Group of Hotels during the years of struggle and existence of the Turkish Cypriots- will re-open its doors with the 28 years of educational experience and vision of GAU.

Chateau Lambousa will begin to serve the domestic economy under GAU via the protocol signed by GAU Cyprus-Girne Campus Chancellor’s Office. Protocol was signed amongst the Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar on behalf of GAU and Aziz Kent on behalf ıf Celebrity Group of Hotels during the signing ceremony which was also participated by GAU Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Olgun Üstün, Director of Higher school of Applied Social Sciences Assist. Prof. Dr. İsmet Esenyel, Coordinator of Celebrity Group of Hotels Gordon Selim Kent and GAU legal advisor Advocate Aral Doğu.

Aziz Kent- as the first Cypriot Turkish to emerge the concept of tourism in the country- has stated that he is honored to observe that GAU has always succeeded to be the first in every aspect and believe that the protocol will positively affect the country in accordance with the fact that the re-opening of Chateau Lambousa with the lead of GAU Tourism and Hospitality Faculty will positively effect TRNC Tourism sector and country’s promotion while allowing vacancies and also providing additive value for the economy. Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar has also held significant statements for GAU TV after the signing ceremony.


Serhat AKPINAR: “The Main Goals of Universities must be to Keep the Core Existence of Turkish Cypriots Vivid”During the program screened by The Actual News program of GAU TV in GAU Chancellor’s Office, Serhat Akpınar have emphasized that the main goals of universities must be to keep the core existence and of Turkish Cypriots vivid and preserve the historical-ethical values. Akpınar has also underlined that the works of Cultural Heritage Management Movement under GAU is for thereof cause.


“Chateau Lambousa will successfully fit in the Sector of Tourism as it deserves”Akpınar has thanked Aziz Kent the President of Celebrity Group of Hotels for contributing in the development of domestic tourism and economy and also for leading the movement of Turkish Cypriot community in the fields of tourism and hotel management thus enhancing the will in the years of existance and struggle and he also underlined that Chateau Labousa will be developed in means of current world hotel management standard through renovation and additional buildings for achieving national or international recognition and recruiting about 200 personnel simultaneously.


 “A Center of Attraction to be for the Global Standard Service and Tourism Education with the Renovation Project”Akpınar emphasized that Chateau Lambousa facilities with their wide space and additional buildings also with Spa, multifunction halls, multi-purpose banquette areas, contemporary theoretical and applied classrooms, wine gourmet cellar and enormous pool will be an additive value for domestic economy and tourism with the contribution of GAU vision. And also he stated that the project will provide 250 bed and about 200 recruitment vacancies for the tourism sector. Akpınar stated that the facilities will shelter the GAU tourism and Accommodation Management and Gastronomy Culinary Arts department entirely for allowing their productions and education to be continued while also providing chance of recruitment for the graduates. It has also been stated that the project will contribute both to the future of the graduates and the public and that Chateau Lambousa will be a center of attraction for the global standard service and tourism education with the renovation project.
