Famous Russian Ballet Dancer Is Now Among GAU Academic Staff

Within the 25th Silver Jubilee Year of Girne American University (GAU), with the slogan of “ Now it is time to dance” the GAU Stage School had opened and famous Russian ballet dancer Oleg Manukovich is now in GAU and will share his experience with the GAU Stage School students. According to the statement made by GAU, Academic units of the Stage School got accreditations of YÖK (the Higher Education Council of Turkish Republic) and YÖDAK.

It was also mentioned that GAU Stage School got the reward of “Best Faculty” within the 2009-2010 academic year. The modern faculty building which costs 2.5 million euro is marvellous with its architecture, functional design, and technologic sub-structure and dance studios. The indoor dance studios which occupies 1000m2 place will be open to talented students with its multi-vision audio and visual sub-structure. The Stage School is the only faculty which gives dance education in Northern Cyprus.

World-famous academicians and artists will be among the academic staff of GAU Stage School within the new academic year. . Galip Emre who is Turkish Dance Federation Board Member and Creator of Functional Dance Theory, Oleg Manukovich, Liliya Biroğul, Alexandra Simakova, Suzan Heıjari Erkan and Süleyman Akosman are some of that precious names who will share their experience with the GAU students.

GAU Stage School, aims to raise professional dancers, after two years of education graduated students will be titled as “Professional Dancer” and will have job opportunities in dance schools as dancer, director artist, and choreography, specialist of body movements or innovative researcher at the fields of dance and professional studies. Students who complete 4 years of education will be titled as “Professional Dancer-Master” and with that title graduated students have a chance to be trainer in Elementary, Middle and High Schools or can choose to be innovative researcher at the fields of dance education.
