The former Turkish Minister of Finance, Sümer Oral visited GAU’S Karmi Campus and gave a speech about the Turkish Higher Education System and development by GAU. During his visit, Sümer Oral was accompanied by the GAU Chairman of the Board of Trustees Memduh Erdal, the Board of Directors Chairman Olgun Üstün and the Rector Prof. Dr. Yıldırım Öner.

Oral said that 25 years of in higher education is a very important milestone and should be celebrated and emphasized that GAU is among a handful of Turkish universities that can compete with the best universities in the world. He also emphasized that with the different campuses, academic staff and different opportunities provided to GAU students, GAU is among the best universities in the world. Sümer Oral also said that GAU is a great ambassador for North Cyprus. At the end of his speech Sümer Oral congratulated GAU for its education and efforts in the field of higher education.
