Girne American University (GAU) 31th Academic year opening ceremony was ended with “Hand to hand with Kyrenia” cortege which is coordinated every year traditionally.

To cortege which traditionally starts from the Kyrenia Municipality Ramadan Cemil Square and continue with placing a wreath at the Atatürk bust, Kyrenia peoples and tourists showed great interest. 

A cortege which faculty deans, academics, University’s sport and student clubs beside the GAU Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Kutsal Öztürk, Member of the Board of Administration Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hossein Sadri, Vice Rectors Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zafer Ağdelen, Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karakartal and so many students’ attended, passed like a festival with GAU Band Music Band’s live performance.

GAU Acting Vector Prof. Dr. Kutsal Öztürk who made a speech in a cortege, said these;

 “It is really pleasing to coexist with GAU and Kyrenia peoples in this year as well in an Academic year opening ceremony that we coordinate every year traditionally. We speed up the health investments as a GAU in 2015-2016 Academic year. Our hospital project’s works that is currently ongoing is continuing with full speed in order to provide a service to you. We exceeded the 30th year as a GAU and currently we are the Kyrenia’s half with our student rate which exceed 15 thousands. Therefore, our works will continue about all kinds of your requests and we always together with you as a GAU. I greet you all with love and respect on behalf of the GAU Global Science Family.
