GAU Lecturer Havva Cınar Shares Important Information About Child Rearing: “Children See The World Like a ...

Cınar who remarked that children see the world like a philosopher, wonder about the world and the world is an interesting place for them, gave advices for young mothers.


In the TV program which is called “Üç Elma” and presented by Ülkü Biranlı, Girne American University (GAU) Faculty of Education Lecturer Havva Cınar answered the questions about child rearing.

 

In the program, they laid emphasis on child and child literature and discussed about “How a qualified and good child work should be, how families should choose the books that their children read, what their criteria should be and how a child see the world”

  

Havva Cınar stated that curiosity and interests of a child differ from adults and the main purpose of child literature works is to gain reading habit and develop love for reading.


Do not underrate a lullaby

 

Cınar emphasized the importance of the lullabies in obtaining language capability and gave examples about the advantages that children gain from works such as fairy tales, lullabies and stories.

 

Cınar underlined that children see the world like a philosopher, wonder about the world and the world is an interesting place for them and continued: “Children want to explore the world and learn everything about it. Therefore, we should satisfy this sense of wonder through child works that appeal to their fantasy world, frame of mind and emotions”


Child Literature is different

 

Cınar referred that because of that, writers of child literature bear more responsibilities than adult writers and stated that without knowing the child and without knowing the emotions, thoughts, and imagination frame of the child, it is out of question to write a child-directed book.

 

Cınar: “You write a qualified book as long as it touches the world of children. You should create child-directed books which is based on emotions such as love, friendship, sharing, protecting animals and nature and tolerance”
