The Global Education Student Circle is Expanding

A seminar about the social net information sharing project was organized by the GAU Management Information Systems Students Club, Student Circle www.studentscircle.net in collaboration with one of its students Gossy Ukanwoke under the supervision of the Head of the Management Information Systems Department Assistant Professor Beran Necat.

During the seminar held at the GAU Cyprus Kyrenia Campus Millenium Complex Senate Hall, lecturers and students from the Department of MIS gave various presentations on the subject.

Under the supervision of the Head of the Management Information Systems Department Assistant Professor Beran Necat, student Gossy Ukanwoke presented the scope, purpose and particulars of the Student Circle project. The GAU MIS Student Club activities and the activity programmes prepared for 2011-2012 were also presented at the seminar and the advantages gained by the Student Circle Social Network were evaluated by experts and academics.

In his comments about the Student Circle www.studentcircle.net information sharing social net project, the Head of the Management Information Systems Department Assistant Professor Beran Necat stated that the Student Circle social net project which has rapidly expanded and embraced the world was developed at the GAU Cyprus Kyrenia Campus Techno Park Science and Research Laboratory for students to share information, curriculum, scientific projects and scientific information.

Project has found wide acclaim in the IT industry and the world famous Forbes magazine gave wide coverage on the Student Circle project, Mr. Necat said, and added that a lot of interest was shown by the Dell Company in Turkey.

Every student in the world continuing in higher education and every scientist producing scientific information and projects will be able to bring to life collective scientific projects with the Student Circle social network scientific sharing project, the Assistant Professor underlined. He also stated that it will become easier to access curriculums and information related to theoretical and applied lessons.

Assistant Professor Necat drew attention to the important contribution of the project to global education and information sharing and highlighted that the Student Circle will become an education centre and base in the global world and that the wide acclaim the project has received in the IT world has been an important reference for recognition of this country’s higher education system and its structure. Assistant Professor Beran Necat also emphasized that approximately one hundred thousand students have accessed different sources of scientific information and curriculum since the project was implemented in 2010.
