American College - Year 8 Students Graduate

International year 8 students of the American College have graduated in the 2013/2014 Academic Year with a spectacular ceremony.

Aysu Balkanlar - the Principal of the American College noted in her speech that most of the students have been studying under the American College since their early ages and they will continue their studies here for their high-school education as well. Balkanlar added that the American College has benefited significantly to the life of the students and this will be of value in their future lives. Balkanlar finally congratulated those students who have graduated from year 8 and added that up to today the students have made numerous achievements and that they will continue achieving more in the future.

İzzet Mertekçi and Demir Eser both performed a poem as Yaren Beler staged a ballet show and Sara Sakka sang a song, while a dancing group “Burlesque” formed of year 8 students performed modern dance and Cypriot folk dance.

Following the performances, Deren Dimililer was presented with an award by the President of TRNC Fencing Federation - Erhan Vechi for contributing to sports and for her achievements in sporting fields during her educational years and also Ayçin Özderya, Fatma Canseç (Basketball), Ekaterina Lachlova, İzzet Mertekçi, Nour Alfayez, Derin Bedel, Fikri Terkan (Football), Eda Vechi, Melda Hassan, Ayal Çağlaş, Elis Ertepınar, Tünay Konti (Fencing) and Tanem Kayımzade (Swimming) all received their awards presented by American College Vice-Principal - Koray Emirhoca.

Asya Eminoğlu was also presented with the traditional annual “Special Principal Award” for her excellence. Furthermore Demir Eser, Deren Dimililer, Eda Vechi also each received an “Excellence Award” for their high average score in education.

The diplomas were presented by Oya Özkan – the responsible person for year 8 and classroom teachers to Niki Behjousiar and Simge Özkan.
