American College - Intense Seminar Program

The American College of GAU Group of Schools has started the new semester with an intense seminar program following the first semester.

The Dean of GAU Health Sciences - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tülin Bodamyalı emphasized relationships amongst teacher-teacher and teacher-students in her presentation. Bodamyalı underlining the importance of building empathy by teachers towards the students and the parents also stressed that efficient communication is a significant element in education.

The Head of GAC English Department - Wendy Hulme presented a two period study on the role of the teacher corresponding to student success. The effective learning methods in student course success were presented to the teachers practically. Emphasis was made that each act and word conducted by the teacher to the opinion leaders of the future in a success orientated education is indeed significant for the student and it can affect the students’ life directly.

The Principal of American Future College - Derviş Kansu delivered a presentation on teachers’ personal and vocational attitudes and this was followed by a mutual dialogue amongst teachers. Former teacher of the American College - Biray Eminoğlu gave a presentation about surplus materials in a practical course and the reformation of these materials into art works and usable home-wares.

The smart boards were also explained during the seminar and the benefits to students and teachers were further discussed. Also emphasis was made on the wide student transportation network of the GAU Group of Schools between Lefkoşa and Güzelyurt. Vice-Principal of the American College Koray Emirhoca informed the transportation personnel on rules and communication techniques.
