A black wreath was placed on front of the Ministry of Economy to protest the consent for use of the title of Girne University of Near East University by the registrar of companies and bounded Ministry of Economy and Energy

The Science Board formed under GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Dr. Asım Vehbi, Vice-Chancellors of Board of Administrators Olgun Üstün and Cemile Esenyel, Rector Prof. Dr. Yıldırım Öner, Vice-Rectors, Faculty Deans and Heads have placed a black wreath to protest under the presidency of GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar.

Following the placement of black wreath to the door of Economy and Energy Ministry GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar, GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Dr. Asım Vehbi, Vice-Chancellors of Board of Administrators Olgun Üstün and Cemile Esenyel and Rector Prof. Dr. Yıldırım Öner have conveyed their protest letters to Undersecretary of the minister  Cansev Metbulut  and Director of  Registrar Office Emin Bilgen respectively due to the absence of Minister Suat Atun.

 “Registration of the Title is rather interpreted by our side as illegal and unethical”The letter of protest was read to the Undersecretary of the minister  Cansev Metbulut  and Director of  Registrar Office Emin Bilgen before their office on behalf of the GAU Global Science Family referring to the illegal and unethical consent of authority for registering the names of Girne European University, Girne Maritime University, International University of Girne and Girne Metropolitan University under the title of University of Kyrenia as a front company founded by the Near East University or its family under the consent of Official Collection Service and Directorship of Registrar Office bounded to the Economy and Energy Ministry.

 “We do want to believe that this Unfair Competition and consent which will undermine public conscious is due to Bureaucratic Oversight”

The protest also emphasized that the title of University of Kyrenia is only smoke and mirror manipulation which will build unfair competition and undermine public conscious and will also endanger the equality proposed by the Bureaucrats towards individuals and legal entities and it has also been stressed that the unfair action is believed to be due to bureaucratic oversight.

The protest letter underlined the significance of rectifying the mistake swiftly possible by the competent ministry and involved office which illustrates unethical and unfair consent. Thus GAU emphasized that rights will always be preserved under any conditions and circumstances.

Serhat Akpınar: “We will preserve our rights under any conditions and circumstances.”Following the reading of the protest letter to the GAU Science Board, GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar stressed that all necessary action will be implemented towards rectifying the mistake by GAU Science Board. It has also been underlined that GAU will any condition seek its right to neutralize the unjust consent. If necessary the issue will be conveyed to European Court of Human Rights.

Following the protest letter Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Olgun Üstün and Rector Prof. Dr. Yıldırım Öner together with advocate Aral Doğu of GAU legal advisors have emerged the President of Competition Board Yenal Süreç to discuss the issue.
