GAU Commenced an Attempt Before Congo -Ankara Embassy

GAU CEO AND VICE-CHANCELLOR OF BOARD OF ADMINISTRATORS ASIM VEHBİ WAS HOSTED BY THE ANKARA AMBASSADOR TSHIDIMBA OF DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO

GAU commenced an attempt before Congo -Ankara Embassy, whom arrived at TRNC illegally, in regards to the phrase used for the Congolese students studying in GAU by the Greek Ambassador of Democratic Republic of Congo and the immediate secretary of the embassy addressing them to depart from Cyprus and dismiss their education in GAU.

GAU Board, GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Asım Vehbi and Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Olgun Çiçek, was hosted by the Ankara Ambassador Tshidimba of Democratic Republic Of Congo. Undersecretary of the embassy Augustin Nkutu Nzemba had also attended.

Ambassador Tshidimba was presented with traditional Cyprus handicraft art of Lefkara on behalf of Turkish Cypriot Community and GAU Global Science family.


 “Congo Ambassador Promised to Help”GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor Of Board Of Administrators Asım Vehbi has stated that beside of the support of Foreign Ministry, GAU Global Science family is expecting other authorities of the state and all other universities to be more sensitive and will towards the threats thereof.  Congo Ambassador has emphasized that he is aware of the significance of the issue and also promised to help.


 “The State Authorities and Turkish Competent Authorities were informed”Vehbi stated that in specific GAU is perceived as threat by the Athens and Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus with its rising number of foreign students. Vehbi also stated that relevant information is been diverted to TRNC state authorities and Turkish competent authorities and emphasized that GAU has conducted with the issue that concerns all universities, with all means.

Vehbi underlined that it is not tolerable for a mission chief of a foreign country in Greece to pressurize the foreign students in TRNC. Vehbi also stated that the arguments of TRNC been an illegal country and GAU a university on occupied land is invalid due that diplomas of GAU and other universities is recognized by the world. The attacks against North Cyprus universities are changing dimension systematically and domestic higher-education is due encountered by a new threat.

Vehbi asked state authorities for further action. Vehbi forwarded his appreciation to Foreign Affairs Ministry and authorities in Ankara whom were sensitive on the issue and Turkish competent authorities on behalf of GAU Global Science family.
