“We Lost Gallipoli War Against God not Turks”

VARIOUS EVENTS REALIZED AT GAU DUE TO 18 MARCH MARTYR’S DAYEvents were realized due to 18 March Marty’s Day at GAU Cyprus-Girne Campus International Congress Center Spectrum Hall.

A panel was held with the contributions of Education Faculty, Ataturkist Thought Club, Turcology Club, History Club and Theater Club in the content of 18 March Çanakkale Victory and Marty’s Day.

Following the opening of the panel with a minute’s silence and the National Anthem, the opening speech was uttered by the Dean of Education Faculty Sadettin Yıldız with contributive participation of Head of GAU Health and Sports Department Türkay Akpınar and many academic personnel.

The panel was finalized subsequent to the speech of Head of Turkish Language Teaching Department of Education Faculty Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nejat Sefgercioğlu following by the short documentary films and poem concerts of the contributing students.


 “THE GALLIPOLI WAR WAS AGAINST GOD NOT TURKS”Following the opening remarks of the Dean of Education Faculty Prof. Dr. Sadettin Yıldız, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nejat Sefercioğlu has added in his presentation that the Victory of Çanakkale is a pillar aspect in a world politics and also emphasized that the statement of the opposing forces about the Çanakkale conflict; “We have fought against God not the Turks thus lost”, is significant in explaining the dimension of the war and power of the struggle.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nejat Sefercioğlu has stated that the heroism epic which Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades have realized concluded as the Çanakkale Victory. The event was finalized with the student clubs’ stage plays, poem concerts and short documentary films.
