National Struggle and Martyrs Week commemorated in Girne American University (GAU) Cyprus-Girne Campus International Congress Center Spectrum Hall via organized activities.


The activities which commenced with “Bloody Christmas” commemorate ceremony via the support of GAU History Club and Turcology Club together continued with poem concerts and slide shows performed by the students. Dean of GAU Education Faculty Assoc.Prof. Dr. Saadettin Yıldız, Member of Board of Administrators of TMT (Turkish Resistance Organization) Celal BAYAR and President of Cyprus Turkish Mujahids Committee- Kyrenia Branch Metin FAHRİOĞLU have also attended as spokespersons.


Dean of GAU Education Faculty Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saadettin Yıldız have informed students about Bloody Christmas and explained that he commemorated the martyrs in the 48th anniversary of the Martyrs Week with respect and appreciation. In his speech, Fahrioğlu recited his appreciations towards the students and lecturers of the History and Turcology Clubs after conveying the ideology and the importance of the day. Fahrioğlu speaking about the Lost Bus incident, also added that the aim of the Struggle and Martyrs week commemorate ceremony is to inform youth and new generations.
