Rauf Raif Denktas Cyprus Research Centre has been established by the Girne American University.

The research centre will commence its scientific research in the academic year 2012-2013. Assist. Prof. Dr. Sadettin Yildiz will hold the presidency of the research centre.

GAU has announced that the objective of the research centre is to carry out sociological, historical, political and literary scientific research in Cyprus.

Scientific research on the recent history and folklore will be put into practice by historians, sociologists, linguists and specialists in literature and folklore aiming to contribute to the literature.
The First Event of the Centre ‘’Rauf Denktas: The Leader who Made his Mark in the History” Exhibition

Girne American University Rauf Raif Denktas Research Centre is organizing a photograph exhibition in cooperation with the Association of Journalists. In the exhibition, childhood and family photographs of the Founding President of TRNC will be displayed together with the unpublished photographs he has taken himself.

The exhibition will be held on Friday the 20th of July 2012 as part of the Government’s Peace and Freedom Day celebtrations program. The exhibition operning will be held at the Girne American University Kyrenia Campus International Congress Centre Spectrum Hall. Government officials from TRNC and Turkey, and a crowded group of journalists will be at present in the exhibition opening during which more than 100 photographs will be on display.
