Magnificent Graduation Ceremony in the American College

Operating under the GAU, the American College year 8 students graduation ceremony was magnificently held at the GAU International Congress Centre (Spectrum Hall). Ministry of Public Works and Transportation Hasan Tacoy, Head of the GAU schools group and the parents of students attended to the ceremony.

 

The Principal of the American College Aysu Balkanlar forwarded the following feelings in the opening speech ‘our students have worked very hard to get to this point in their lives. I am sure all of us are proud of being here. This year has been a very active year, and year 8 students have put in a lot of effort so that this year ends successfully. I am sure they will continue working hard in future. I am thanking my students for all of their hard work. As we all know the time spent in schools is the most important time spent in our lives. At school we our own future. To guarantee your future, I am sure you all will continue to work the very hardest.’

 

Balkanlar continued her speech ‘today you have made a new start. At secondary school there will be different expectations waiting for you. Your own choice making ability will develop and you will be able to make further choices about your future careers. I have further wishes in order to see you graduate in four years from year 12 and move on to university which is a new step to the way of your career.  I am wishing you all good luck for your future efforts. Now you can lean back and enjoy your graduation night’.

 

Celebration Events

 

At the night one of the year 8 students Okyay Onat Birinci read a poem, Asya Ladin Ulubas sang songs playing the piano; Kaya Debbag and Melisa Karanlik sang songs and received applause. The vice deputy manager of the American College Koray Emirhoca and the P.E teacher Caner Ay gave awards to students successful at sporting events.

 

Being successful at basketball Zeynep Saymaz, Besre Eda Izam, Gulsen Dal, Oktay Birinci, in football, Ali Murtaza Ates, Mehmet Davrandi, in fencing Acelya Beyzade, Evelina Surovikina, Gulcan Bali, Kaya Debbag, Huseyin Baran Kilic, Jan Hussein Djemal, Meltem Colak, Secilya Huroglu, Elit Guner Aydin were rewarded at the ceremony.

 

Zeynep Sungu was given a special award for the over achievements shown at competition during the year. Sungu received her award from the Bursa 22nd Century Schools Group board chairman (CEO) Kenan Kulaksiz. At the ceremony a slide show was prepared reflecting the days spent at the American College of the year 8 students.

 

The ceremony continued with the ‘Hababam Sinifi’ musical show and the ‘Head Special Reward’ was given to Gulcan Bali for her outstanding performance during the year. Young Scientist award was given to Kaya Debbag by the responsible teacher of year 8’s Yeliz Sadrazam. Melisa Karanlik was given the musical award by the deputy manager Sermin Mayin.

 

During the three years of education spent at the Junior High School, pupils which graduated with the highest grade averages received the awards from the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation Hasan Tacoy and the Manager of the American College Aysu Balkanlar.

 

Rabia Aslan, Gulcan Bali, Seyma Safter, Huseyin Oz, and Secilya Huroglu received Acedemic success awards and to eternalise the moment families were invited to stage to take photographs.

 

After the students shared their thoughts and feelings the commencement had started. The responsible teacher of year 8’s Yeliz Sadrazam, year 8 teachers Simge Ozkan and Aysu Balkanlar gave students their certificates.
