The 5th book, “Media`s Place in the Formation of National Identity in Cyprus”, of Girne American University Global Education Institution Press Coordinator Asst. Prof. Dr. Güven Arıklı, was published.

Arıklı, who reviewed the news contents reflected in Nacak, Akın, Zaman, Halkın Sesi, Mücahit, Savaş, Zafer, Cumhuriyet newspapers, which were published in long or short term in 1955-1974, in his book, stated that these news describes the situations and events they experienced against all kinds of obstacles about all fields of national unity and rights and while writing the book these events revealed against which alliance, riot and actions the national rights and resistance came into prominence.

Arıklı explained that the book brought light to the most important days of national struggle years and that Turkish Cypriots tried to announce the resistance and right, to all countries by their national newspapers and stated that” The flag and the process of national struggle was not abandoned until the end, despite all the obstacles, in the formation of the Turkish identity; This process was donated to Turkish Cypriots under the leadership of Dr. Fazıl Küçük, Rauf R. Denktaş and their friends.
