An Environmental Cleaning Campaign is being organised under the safeguard of the TRNC Tourism, Environment and Cultural Ministry along with the Office for Environmental Protection, Municipalities of Lapta, Alsancak, Catalkoy, Esentepe and Girne American University.

The coastal shores of the Center of Tourism Girne as well as Karaoglanoglu University Drive and the new Girne By-pass will be cleaned in this operation by the Office for Environmental Protection supported by all branches of the GAU school group members.

The activity will take place on Thursday the 5th of April under the supervision of the Office for Environmental Protection.

This campaign is aimed at spreading and raising awareness for the environment in future generations via cleansing the environment of unnatural things (rubbish). Assist. Prof. Dr. Ismet Esenyel Head of GAU’s International Tourism Education Board (INTEB) expressed the importance of sustainable environment and natures for tourism.
“European Union Tourism Authorities admire our Nature and Environment”

Assist. Prof. Dr. Ismet Esenyel expressed that European Union Tourism Authorities revealed their admiration for our nature and Environment in a recent visit to the TRNC for a first time organisation of AMFORHT and EURHODIP International seminars. Mr. Esenyel continued by explaining the importance of a protected environments role on potentials for development in tourism in TRNC’s Higher Education and locomotive Sectors.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Ismet Esenyel expressed his thanks to Mr. Unal Ustel Minister for Tourism Culture and Environment, Esref Unlusoyer Head of Environmental Protection and everyone who gave support for the campaign of “give a breath for nature and the environment” and expressed that nature is an important heritage that the present generation can leave for future generations.
