The Commune with Aytül Aktal which was held at The American College, which provides education within the Group of Schools of Girne American University (GAU), was about the books and children’s literature.

At the commune which was held at the Girne Campus of The American College for both college and university students, The American College stated that Aytül Akal aims to provide readers to the community with the help of communes she has done with children and qualified literary works she has prepared.

Besides publishing her interviews with authors, illustrators and translators, Aytül Akel prepared advertisements and criticism about children’s book and prepared a page called “Books for Children” for the book supplement of Cumhuriyet newspaper, between the years of 1998-2003, for a total of 5 years. Akal continued to prepare the child’s page with Mavisel Yener, Nilay Yılmaz and Çiğdem Güneş after being called to the same task back in 2007. So far 131 works of Akal`s have been translated into many languages and they are continued to be subscribed by the entire world.
