Dr. Fazıl Küçük was Commemorated in a Ceremony At GAU

The Turkology and History Club of GAU held a ceremony to commemorate the birth of one of the big leaders of The Cyprus Problem Dr. Fazil Kucuk.

Dr. Fazil Kucuk’s son Mehmet Kucuk , Assoc Dr. Sadettin Yildiz, Dean of Education Faculty, took part in the ceremony held in the Millenium Senate Congress Complex of the Girne American University, where senior lecturer Demiray Dogasal and Public Relations student Ahmet Demiray were spoke persons.

“He lived for the Cypriot Turks”

İn his speech Dr. Fazil Kucuk’s son Mehmet Kucuk staded that throughout his life his father was one with and lived intimately with his people and he struggled for the rights of Turkish Cypriots from 1931to his death. İn many ways, Mehmet Kucuk likened his father to Ataturk in that he was always loved by his people and was aborn leader who never carried a gun or wondered around with security. After thanking GAU authorities for the commemoration ceremony, he ended his speech by stating that Dr. Fazil Kucuk was a fearless leader who fought for what he believed to be right and whose place will not be easily filled.

The ceremony ended with Public Relations student Ahmet Demiray’s speech followed by GAU Rectorate Prof. Dr. Yıldırım Öner’s presentation of a thank you plaket to Mehmet Kucuk.
