Aviation Sector Will Provide Job Opportunities For A Million People

In the 25th anniversary year, Girne American University continues to make new advancements to provide world class education. With the new projects for the Faculty of Aviation, GAU aims to develop technological infrastructure and equipment.

Required arrangements were made to do test flights on the island and new projects about making flights to the Canterbury Campus, on the agenda of the university. It was also emphasized that GAU students who graduated from the other undergraduate programmes have a chance to take pilot training for 18 months.

According to the statement made by GAU, with the new projects, graduated students of the Aviation Faculty of GAU will be distinguished in the aviation sector.

There will be need for a million pilot and operator

In the statement it was also mentioned that there will be a need for a million pilot and operator within next 20 years. In a seminar held in Singapore the Education Service Manager of Boeing Roei Ganzarski gave very important information which is very beneficial for the students. In his statement it was also mentioned that due to the international demand increased between 2009-2010 and due to people who are going to retire, there will be need for a million people for the sector. In Asia, North America and Europe, there will be job opportunities for 466 thousand pilots and 560 thousand operator. GAU indicates that Singapore where one of the GAU campuses located will be a centre of those job opportunities.

In the Faculty of Aviation, students will have a chance to make flights on the island and GAU aims to provide them opportunities to test their sufficiency with making flights also to Singapore and Canterbury Campuses. With the vision of being an Intercontinental University with its 4 campuses in 3 different continents, and with its high-standard education, GAU will provide qualified members for the aviation sector. It was also emphasized that after completing all the infrastructure, the GAU Faculty of Aviation will be the first and mere Aviation Faculty in the Northern Cyprus.
