Girne American University (GAU) is organising a conversation with successful executive and entrepreneur Sadettin Saran of Turkey on April 9, 2018, as part of the 2017-2018 academic year "Innovative Conversations Series ".


In the statement which was made by GAU on the subject, it is emphasised that the conversation, which will take place at 16:30 on April 9, 2018, at GAU Spectrum Hall with Saran Group`s Chairman Sadettin Saran, will be on the subject "Discipline and Success in Entrepreneurship ". It is also stated that the conversation will be as part of the GAU`s 2017-2018 academic year "Innovative Conversations Series" and there will be a Q&A section in the conversation. In addition, it is pointed out that the conversation will be open to the public and free to attend.


Who is Sadettin Saran?

Saran Group Chairman of the Board Sadettin Saran was born in 1964 in the USA and is the child of a government officer father from Kırıkkale and an American Mother. Saran lived in America until he was 2 years old and moved to Turkey. He had his primary, secondary and high school education and after that, he got accepted into the University of Kentucky with Sports Scholarship.


After graduating from University, Sadettin Saran came back to Turkey. Alongside his work in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, Saran also took the positions of Vice-President and President in Martin Marietta`s Ankara Office.


Sadettin Saran established the Saran Group with the aim to fill the void of sports broadcasting in Turkey. From sports to media and Tourism to aviation, Saran Group has 6 branches in various fields and gives service with its 3000 workers. Saran Group also steps forward as a leading corporation with the investments and social responsibility project they make.


Sadettin Saran, which was the captain of the 1984-1985 Turkish National Swimming Team, broke the records of 50-meter Freestyle, 50-meter Freestyle of Master Cumhuriyet Championship, and 50-meter Butterfly Stroke of Turkey in that term. Sadettin Saran is giving back to the society what sports have given to him.


Saran Group, up to today, has opened 17 sports halls, notably in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia Region in provinces such as Doğubayazıt, Ağrı, Ardahan, Hakkâri, Kırıkkale, Van, Kahramanmaraş, and Soma, and gave the opportunity to thousands of children to do sports.


Moreover, Saran Group is also one of the main supporters of sports organisations of disabled people, like Turkey Special Athletes Sports Federation`s Open Sea Swimming Championships.
