Girne American University (GAU) with 30 years of academic accumulation of knowledge and experience is introducing the 2015-2016 academic year.

With the Education Specialist Ece Karaboncuk’s presentation on CNN Turk’s broadcast about ‘’Education and Achievement’’ program, GAU Rector Prof. Dr. Sadik Ulker commentated specifically about GAU and in general; the higher education system in TRNC.

Ulker’s explanation was also about GAU’s location which is one of the most pleasant places of the island, Girne, dominates the nature and sea also the students have a chance of education in one of the world’s most beautiful place. Expressing that GAU has 30 years of academic past and being the first university on the island, Ulker said that in this period embargos and isolations put on the TRNC was removed by their international academic work and they themselves play an important role on the country being known worldwide.

Continuing his speech, Ulker expressed that GAU at the moment is a global university with students from 103 different countries and academicians from 40 different countries. The existing 13,000 students are educated by; 9 faculties, 2 institutions and 6 vocational high schools. He carried forward the main factor of the students choosing GAU which is the university being at an international level and the most important reason being that GAU operates in 3 continents England, USA, Hong Kong, Istanbul and Moldova. Besides this, students have an advantage of 7 years uninterrupted scholarship, this way students can process their academic career with no worries about their scholarship.
