SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The School Administrative Board of Girne American University consists of the School Director as Chair, the Assistant Directors, and three faculty members elected for a term of three years by the School Board from among six candidates nominated by the Director.

The School Administrative Board convenes upon the call of the School Director. When necessary, the Board may establish temporary working groups, education and training coordination committees, or similar structures, and defines their duties, authorities, and responsibilities.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The School Administrative Board serves as an advisory and executive body assisting the School Director in administrative affairs.
Its duties and responsibilities are defined in Article 20(d) of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, and are as follows:

  1. Assist the School Director in the implementation of the principles and decisions determined by the School Board.

  2. Ensure the effective execution of the School’s education and training plans, programs, and academic calendar.

  3. Prepare and propose the School’s investment, program, and budget drafts.

  4. Deliberate and make decisions on all administrative matters submitted by the School Director.

  5. Decide on issues concerning student admissions, course equivalencies, dismissals, educational activities, and examination procedures.

  6. Perform other duties assigned by laws, regulations, and institutional directives.


AUTHORITIES

  • Authorized to carry out all duties and responsibilities listed above.

  • Authorized to use the necessary tools, equipment, and resources for the execution of its activities.

  • Authorized to represent Girne American University within the scope of its duties and to ensure the enforcement of Board decisions.

ACCOUNTABILITY

The School Administrative Board is accountable to the School Director and Assistant Directors for the proper and lawful execution of all duties in accordance with the relevant legislation, university regulations, and internal directives of the School.
