GENEL BİLGİ /GENERAL INFORMATION

A Health Psychology Master's program is a graduate-level program that provides students with advanced training in the intersection between psychology and health. The program is designed to prepare students to work in various settings, such as healthcare facilities, research institutions, academic settings, and public health organizations. The curriculum of a Health Psychology Master's program typically covers topics such as biopsychosocial aspects of health and illness, health behaviour change, health promotion and prevention, patient-provider communication, stress and coping, and chronic illness management. Students will also learn about research methods, statistics, and data analysis, which are essential skills for conducting research in the field. Graduates of a Health Psychology Master's program may pursue careers in healthcare, academic research, or public health organizations.

 

ALINACAK DERECE/ DEGREE

Upon successful completion of the program and fulfilling all the requirements for graduation, the student will be conferred a Master's of Science degree in Health Psychology. 

KABUL KOŞULLARI/ ACCEPTANCE CONDITIONS

The student should have a bachelor’s degree in psychology or a closely related field such as forensic sciences or neuroscience. A valid proof of English language proficiency is required for all applicants. Applicants with bachelor’s degrees in other Social sciences, Humanities, Health Sciences, and Management sciences courses can be accepted with bridging courses depending on their transcript evaluations.

PROGRAM ÇIKTILARI/ PROGRAM OUTCOMES

  1. Comprehensive understanding of health psychology: Graduates will have a deep understanding of the fundamental concepts, theories, and research methods used in health psychology.
  2. Application of health psychology theories: Graduates will be able to apply health psychology theories to real-world problems, such as promoting healthy behaviours, preventing illness, and managing chronic conditions.
  3. Conducting research: Graduates will have the skills necessary to design, conduct, and analyse research in health psychology, as well as communicate their findings to both academic and non-academic audiences.
  4. Ethical considerations: Graduates will understand the ethical considerations associated with research in health psychology and be able to integrate ethical principles into their work.
  5. Career opportunities: Graduates will have the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue careers in a variety of settings, such as healthcare, research institutions, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.
  6. Overall, the goal of a Health Psychology Master’s program is to prepare students to contribute to the field of health psychology in meaningful ways, through both research and practice.

MEZUNİYET KOŞULLARI/   GRADUATION CONDITIONS

A minimum of 7 courses and a seminar course must be taken to complete the Health Psychology master's program. In addition, Thesis preparation and Thesis courses are also compulsory. Students who complete the program should not get a grade lower than C for any course and should not get a grade of F. Students can graduate by taking at least 120 ECTS credits.
