The Department of Preschool Education is a teacher training program that started accepting students in the 2008-2009 academic year. The applied program, T.C. It consists of theoretical and applied courses on the development, psychology and education of 0-6 year old children, determined by the Council of Higher Education.

In the program, preschool teachers who will train individuals who are creative, independent, entrepreneurial, self-confident, innovative and believe in change, social, teamwork, and have advanced problem-solving skills are trained in the program. In the applied program, T.C. Determining the needs and developmental characteristics of children aged 0-6, determined by the Council of Higher Education; preparing, implementing and evaluating training programs in accordance with the identified needs and developmental characteristics; different approaches and practices in the education of preschool children; establishing close relationships with children and their families; cooperation with families in preschool education and family education; It is aimed to gain knowledge, skills, positive attitudes and competencies in cooperation with families, institutions and other professionals in the solution of preschool children and educational problems. In order to achieve the goals of the program, studies are carried out in line with the outputs of the preschool teaching program, taking into account the following international standards.


I. Semester

MB-Introduction to Education (2-0-2-3)

Basic concepts of education and training; aims and functions of education; the relationship of education with other fields and sciences; legal, social, cultural, historical, political, economic, philosophical and psychological foundations of education; method in educational sciences; school and classroom as an educational and learning environment; current developments in the teaching profession and teacher training; educational trends in the twenty-first century.

MB-Educational Philosophy (2-0-2-3)

Basic subjects and problem areas of philosophy; philosophy of existence, knowledge, morals/values and education; basic philosophical movements (idealism, realism, naturalism, empiricism, rationalism, pragmatism, existentialism, analytical philosophy) and education; educational philosophy and educational movements: Perennialism, essentialism, progressivism, existential education, critical/radical education; Educational views of some philosophers (Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, J. Dewey, İbn-i Sina, Farabi, J. J. Definition of child health; the state of child health in our country and in the world; child development in the womb; the effects of diseases and accidents during pregnancy on the development of the child; Physical development (teeth, height, weight) and follow-up of children aged 0-8, pediatric diseases (diarrhea and respiratory tract infections, immunization and rash diseases, parasitic infections, etc.) observed in children aged 0-8; vaccines; health problems according to women's life stages; family planning; fracture-dislocation, burning, injury, insect bite, poisoning, foreign body ingestion, etc. First aid that the teacher should do in situations.

Basic concepts of sociology: Society, social structure, social phenomenon, social event etc.; pioneers of sociology (Ibn-i Haldun, A. Comte, K. Marx, E. Durkheim, M. Basic concepts and principles of development; prenatal and postnatal features; newborn (health, care, nutrition); the importance of health, care and nutrition in infant development; 0-36 months child's development areas (motor, cognitive, language, social-emotional) and characteristics and self-care skills; Basic features, principles, indicators, environment characteristics, activities, education planning (monthly education plan, daily education flow and activity plan), implementation and evaluation of the preschool education program for 0-36 months old children.

Information technologies in education; teaching process and classification of instructional technologies; theoretical approaches to instructional technologies; new directions in learning approaches; current literacy; instructional technologies as tools and materials; design of teaching materials; designing thematic teaching materials; field-specific object warehouse creation, teaching material evaluation criteria.

Basic concepts and theories about morality and ethics; ethical principles, ethical rules, business and professional ethics/ethics; the teaching profession with its social, cultural, moral and ethical aspects; the right to education and learning ethical principles in education, training, learning and evaluation; ethical principles in relations with education stakeholders (employers/managers, colleagues, parents, professional organizations and society); moral/ethical responsibilities of education/school administrators, parents and students; unethical behavior in business and professional life; Ethical regulations regarding public administration, education and teachers in Turkey; unethical behaviors in school and education, ethical dilemmas, problems and solutions; moral/ethics education at school and ethics committees; school principal and teacher as a moral/ethical leader.

Development of children's literature in the world and in Turkey; the importance of meeting qualified children's books in childhood and the function of children's literature in raising thinking and sensitive individuals who have acquired a reading culture; examining the features (design, content and educational) that should be found in children's literature works with examples; demonstrating unqualified children's books with examples and discussing their negative effects on children's developmental characteristics; studies to determine the suitability of the books that pre-service teachers read and examine for children according to their age groups and which development they will contribute to; determining the contribution of various literary genres (epics, tales, poems, stories, novels, etc.) and linguistic tools (numbers, nursery rhymes, riddles, etc.) to children's development.

VII. Semester

Making observations about field-specific teaching methods and techniques; making individual and group micro-teaching practices using field-specific special teaching methods and techniques; field-specific activity and material development; preparing teaching environments, managing the classroom, measuring, evaluating and reflecting.

MB-Guidance in Schools (2-0-2-3)

The place of guidance and psychological counseling (RPD) services in education; philosophy, purpose, principles and program of the developmental guidance model (comprehensive developmental RPD program); essential services/interventions; role and function of teachers in classroom guidance; Competencies to be gained in educational, vocational, personal and social areas within the scope of RPD services; cooperation between school administrators and teachers, guidance counselor and psychological counselor; Preparation and implementation of classroom RPD plans and programs.

AE-Character and Value Education (2-0-2-3)

 Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (2-0-2-4)

Law of  Education (2-0-2-4)

Basic concepts of law and administrative law; sources of administrative law; rights and duties in management; Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Declaration of Human Rights; administrative and judicial supervision of teachers; Basic laws establishing and regulating the Turkish Education System; duties, rights and responsibilities of education stakeholders.

Educational Anthropology (2-0-2-4)
