Girne American University (GAU) has promoted the 30th year anniversary prestige film to the media.

The promotion held by the GAU Chancellor’s office has promoted the institutional film with regard to the eve of the 30th year anniversary of the establishment due in the 2014/2015 year.

GAU, being the first private higher education institution in the TRNC, has shared in the promotional film; the academic journey over 30 years since its establishment, the expansion to 3 continents and the future plans.

The press launch was attended by Minister of Public Works and Transportation - Ahmet Kaşif, Head of Girne District - Mehmet Envergil, MP of UBP Güzelyurt - Menteş Gündüz, Chair of GAU Board of Trustees - Memduh Erdal, GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators - Serhat Akpınar, GAU Vice Chancellor and CEO - Assist. Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, Vice Chancellors - Cemile Esenyel and Olgun Üstün, GAU Rector - Prof. Yıldırım Öner, Director of Higher school of Maritime and Transportation Unlimited - Master Efdal Safel and other relevant authorities and press.

The GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators - Serhat Akpınar stated in his speech, prior to the screening of the film, that next year the university will be celebrating the 30th year since its establishment in 1985. In this respect Akpınar also stated that a prestigious film has been prepared which emphasizes the “30th Year of GAU” from the past to the future in order to highlight the developments through time. Serhat Akpınar emphasised that universities have great significance for their countries and he also mentioned that he is proud of GAU as the leading higher education institution. Serhat Akpınar finally in his speech thanked the academic personnel and everyone else who have contributed to this cause of the GAU Family.

Following the screening of the film, the press and GAU authorities discussed the film during the cocktail reception held in the Chancellor’s office.
