We are Away From Our Homes, But We Still Feel Like in Home with GAU’s Hospitality
Every year, The American University (GAU) Student Services Directorship, organize “TRNC Culture Days and Trips” for new students to introduce TRNC and GAU. Those trips which are held by The American University Student Affairs Directorship for free within 2010-2011 academic year, get especially great attention of foreign students. Thanks to those trips, foreign students have a chance to see Kyrenia’s cultural heritages and natural beauties and in 2011, GAU continues to organize those trips for students. During trips which were attended by over 200 students, they had a chance to relax before the final exams. Students were taken to St. Hillarion, Bellapais, Peace and Freedom Museum, Kyrenia Castle, Lambusa Kingdom and GAU Social Facilities Camelot Beach Club.
“Our aim is not only to provide them to get use to TRNC and The American University but also provide them to go back their countries as Voluntary TRNC Cultural Ambassadors “ GAU Student Services Director Celal Sakka mentioned that cultural trips prepare students to get use to TRNC and their social environment more easily and quickly than expected, because getting use to their social environment has a great importance to provide continuity of education. Sakka emphasized that, aim of those trips which are traditionally done by GAU Student Services every year, is to create Voluntary TRNC Cultural Ambassadors. Sakka also emphasized that “TRNC Cultural Days and Trips” and the other social, cultural and sportive activities will continue within 2010-2011 academic year and reminded its importance for introducing TRNC.
