Girne American University International Tourism Education Board (GAU-INTEB), which was founded by GAU to offer competitive programmes in tourism and to meet the growing demand for trained employees for the tourism sector, continues to put its signature under important projects.

The ‘2011 World Tourism Forum’ which is organised by GAU-INTEB and World Association for Hospitality and Tourism Education and Training (AMFORHT) will be held in North Cyprus for the first time and will be a boon for the country and tourism.

A statement by GAU said GAU-INTEB has been accredited by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) which is a very prestigious honour as GAU-INTEB is the only organisation in North Cyprus to receive the award. AH&LA was established in 1952 on the campus of Michigan State University, to train employees for the tourism sector and became one of the most knowledgeable bodies in Tourism and Hospitality Management.

GAU-INTEB President Dr Ismet Esenyel, and Vice President, Emete Toros, said in their statement that as well as diplomas in Tourism Management, those who want to receive certificates of Vocational Proficiency in International Hotel Management and Marketing and Sales Management, Hotel Human Resource Management, Food and Beverage Management, International Tourism Management can benefit from various programmes.

Furthermore, it was stated that diploma programmes from AH&LA consists of 12 modules while vocational proficiency programmes consists of 5 modules, each of them can be completed within seven weeks.
