Adım Mustafa Özkan Girne Amerikan Üniversitesi mimarlık 4. sınıf Mimarlık öğrencisiyim. Bir dönemimi Singapur kampüsümüzde okuyarak Üniversitemizin sağladığı yurt dışında eğitim fırsatı ile hayallerimdeki dünyaya bir uluslararası adım atmış oldum ve bundan dolayı çok mutluyum.
Singapuru gezmek benim için bir rüya gibiydi. Mimarlık öğrencisi olduğum için şehirdeki gökdelenleri ,otelleri ve ilginç bütün binaları dikkatlice inceledim. Şehirde çok turistik ve etkileyici bir görsellik oluşturulmuş. Ayrıca derslerde işlediğimiz ve mimari açıdan incelememiz gereken örnekleri resimlerden değil de o binaları gezerek ve hissederek tanık olmak çok daha heyecen vericiydi.
Singapur’daki kısa süreli ‘’Study Abroad’’ yani dönemsel yurt dışı eğitim fırsatı, İngilizce pratik yapmak açısından da çok yararlıydı. Alışveriş ortamlarında, adres sorarken, eğlenirken mutlaka ortak dil olan İngilizce’yi kullanmak zorundasınız. İlk başlarda her ne kadar yemeklerine alışmakta zorlandıysam da farklı yemekleri tatmak, görmek de farklı bir deneyimdi benim için.
Singapur rüya gibiydi. Girne Amerikan Üniversitesi’nin kültürlere evsahipliği yapan kampüsleriyle hayallerim gerçek oldu.
MUSTAFA ÖZKAN
Hep merak etmiştim Singapur'u bu kadar güzel ve eşsiz yapan şeyin ne olduğunu. Bunun tek bir cevabı var ; planlı ve çevreye saygılı bir şekilde yapılan Mimari Tasarımların ülkeye renk katmasıdır. Singapur’a gidip bunu yerinde deneyimlemek eşsiz bir duyguydu.Üniversitemin yurt dışı kampüslerinde bu fırsatları yakalamak biz Girne Amerikan Üniversitesi öğrencileri için büyük bir şans.
