The Kirgiz Language Dialectology Dictionary, whose studies were being continued for 40 years, was prepared with the chairmanship of Girne American University (GAU) Chairman of the Board of Directors Serhat Akpınar and it was presented to the Kirgizstan and Turkish World.

The 32,000 word Dialectology Dictionary, which was prepared with the joint work of Kirgizstan-Turkey Manas University Kirgiz Republic National Science Academy, Cengiz Aytmatov Language and Literature Institute and Girne American University Turkish Research and Promotion Centre, has been among the leading works of Turcology. The work was presented to the Turkish world as a result of the works that were made with the chairmanship of Serhat Akpınar and it was started to be printed in Russian as well in the Central Asian Republics.

The Kirgiz Language Dialectology Dictionary, whose all rights belong to Girne American University, became among the leading written works of Central Asia. Serhat Akpınar, who made great contribution on the preparation of the dictionary that has a great importance for the

Turkish world and the dialectology, was given “High Wisdom Award and Plate”.

Serhat Akpınar’s following statement took place in the preface of the Kirgiz Language Dialectology Dictionary “We should never keep out of our minds that where we did come to this moment of live, how we reached at this process and who brought us to the light of the culture of life that pave the way for the formation of the values that are inside us for thousands of years.”

GAU continues cooperating in its 25th year as well

Making efforts on the preparation and publishing of the Kirgizstan Dialectology Dictionary, Serhat Akpınar made official contacts in Kirgizstan lately and he shared his knowledge and experiences at the board meeting of the New University of Astana Project. Making academic contribution with nearly 40 universities with the International Science and Higher Education Workshop, GAU continues to rise its vision in its 25th year of inception.
